Burger King Brings Ketchup to Korea

Hold the pickles; hold the relish. South Koreans will soon taste the benefits of their government's pro-U.S. investment policy, as Burger King, the first American fast food chain to enter the country, opens at least 29 franchises in south Korea.

The Pillsbury subsidiary signed a five-year franchising agreement with the south Korean government in mid-March.

"We're all very optimistic," said Worth Parker, Burger King's director of international franchising. The market may bear "up to a hundred franchises," he added.
